Glenugie Distillery
Peterhead
Aberdeenshire

Built in 1833-4 with production commencing in 1837. Silent from 1925 to 1937. Glenugie quickly became popular in New Zealand. When NZ started to distill whisky in 1868 staff from Glenugie were recruited to ensure a quality product was produced. (Legal distillation of whisky ceased in 1875 in New Zealand.) Unlike other distilleries which were converted from breweries this distillery was converted to a brewery in 1873 for a time before being converted back to a distillery. Site now used by North Sea oil development companies.
