Open Nov - Easter, Mon - Fri 1pm - 4pm. Easter - Sept, Mon - Fri 9.30am - 5pm. July - Aug also Sun 12.30pm - 4pm. Oct Mon - Sat 11am - 4pm.
Last tour one hour before closing. Closed over festive period.
December to March restricted hours due to extreme weather conditions and
appointments are advisable.
Admission charge redeemable in shop.
Children under 8 welcome but not allowed to production areas.
When production started in 1898 the distillery was called Speyside, this being changed to Dalwhinnie in 1905. Closed after fire 1934 and not reopened until 1939. Distillery houses a Meteorological station which the manager is responsible for.
Dalwhinnie is located in the highlands, at 1073 feet above sea level close to the source of the river Spey making it the highest distillery in Scotland.
